A philological study on poisoning and side effects of Alismatis Rhizoma

Abstract

|
Alismatis Rhizoma is in use in Korean medicine. The Korean medical doctors use Alismatis Rhizoma for urinating, etc. We investigated toxicity, poisoning symptoms, poisoning treatment and prevention against poisoning of Alismatis Rhizoma. The results were summarized as follows: 1.The ingredients of poisoning from Alismatis Rhizoma mainly cause stimulating symptoms on the digestive system, urinary organs, etc and cause hypersensitive dermatisis by touching. 2. In the case of causing stimulating symptoms on the digestive system, these symptoms are gone of itself. If the stimulating symptoms are serious, the medical doctors should wash out the stomach, promote vomiting, administer an enema, supply of grape sugar and meet symptoms as they call for attention, etc. 3.In order to prevent against poisoning of Alismatis Rhizoma, the patients should keep usage, dosage and notes.
